In eigener Sache möchte ich hier unsere kleine Veranstaltung bekanntgeben, die ich gemeinsam mit Jocke Winzer veranstalte.

C86 Party Oldschool Indie/Guitar P!O!P! in Hamburg, Germany 8th September 2006

When the NME released a tape compilation 20 years ago, its title baptized a whole generation of guitar based Indie Pop bands: C86. Two decades later the charming sound and P!O!P! appeal of this music is still present and its influence lives on in bands such as Belle And Sebastian or the Pipettes.

Hence it's time for Velocity Boy and Twee Rex to open their vinyl shrines to spin records full of jangling and fuzzy chainsaw guitars, rattling tambourines, trumpets and "Ba Ba Bas" playing well known indie gems as well as lots of brilliant no-hit-wonders by the likes of The Shop Assistants, The Pastels, The Wedding Present, early Primal Scream or James Dean Driving Experience to name but a few. The event takes place on the 8th of September at Hamburg's "Prinzenbar", certainly Germany's most beautiful club (Kastanienallee 20, Hamburg/St. Pauli, http://www.docks.de/rahmen_prinz.html) opening at 10 pm.

Only one day earlier, on Thursday, 7th September 2006, Australia's The Lucksmiths and Scotland's The Catalysts will play at "Prinzenbar" and this show will be followed by the Three Cheers For Our Side DJ Collective spinning Indie Pop. Please see www.threecheers.de for details.

schön, dass ihr im newsletter auf die neue Spearmint CD aufmerksam macht, in eurem "Shop" jedoch schon vor release datum und jetzt auch noch auf "Sold out" steht.(nach zahlreichen clicks, das teil auch endlich gefunden) Was ist denn los?? so musst ich bei amazon zuschlagen
